Sonya Ku

An environmental scientist, I began my sustainability career as an ecologist, modelling the impact of fire on tall forest tree diversity, and observing cetacean social hierarchies. I went on to join the Green Building Council of Australia Rating Tool Development team providing technical expertise for six rating tools and numerous individual Green Star credits. Most recently, I developed and managed sustainability strategies including GRESB and DJSI reporting for ASX-listed property developers and real estate investment trusts (REITs).

Inspiring projects are created by teams that have chutzpah – confidence and audacity - and you get that when people understand the technical pain points of a problem and can trust their bold ideas will work. It’s no accident the property industry’s leading sustainability teams are dominated by engineers, architects and scientists.

Cundall is focused on doing work that is aligned to its values and brings together a team of technically brilliant, talented, sustainability rockstars. I get to bring my experience to the table and be creative every day, collaborating on something I'm passionate about and developing brave ideas to resolve new challenges.
