Rachel Thompson

I became interested in planning and regeneration whilst growing up in Sunderland. The potential for sites such as the former Vaux brewery were discussed, and I saw a career in planning as an opportunity to improve the prosperity of the region. Since then, I’ve been directly involved in the Sunderland Riverside project and become a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).

Cundall is committed to excellence and has supported me in developing my capabilities in areas such as environmental impact assessments (EIA) and sustainability. I have a certificate in environmental management from the Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) and hope to become an IEMA Practitioner.

EIA projects often involve collaboration and coordination with a number of other consultants both internally and externally. The strong relationships Cundall has with its clients and local planning authorities benefit this process.
