Rachel Thompson

I became interested in planning, regeneration and the environment whilst growing up in Sunderland. I was inspired by the potential for long term vacant sites to be transformed into vibrant and inclusive places which serve local communities and saw a career in planning as an opportunity to improve the prosperity of the region. During my career at Cundall I have been directly involved in a range of regeneration projects including Sunderland Riverside and became a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Cundall is committed to excellence and has supported me in developing my capabilities in areas such as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Health Impact Assessment (HIA). I have also become an associate member of the Institute for Environmental Management and Assessment.

Collaboration is crucial to preparing successful planning and EIA submissions. My role often involves liaising and coordinating with other consultants and stakeholders. The strong relationships Cundall has with its clients and local planning authorities greatly benefit this process.
