Bill Wilkins in a discussion with a colleague seated on a cream corner sofa

I am a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 25 years’ experience and lead both the civil engineering team in the Manchester office and the University sector for Cundall. I have worked across a variety of specialisms, including infrastructure, city centre regeneration, estate masterplanning, site development, public realm and brownfield remediation. I have always enjoyed creating and problem solving, and with a flair for maths and physics I was drawn to civil engineering because of its positive influence that is seen everywhere and the role it plays within sustaining everyday life.

Creativity through engineering

I am passionate about responsible development through the implementation of sustainable transport systems, low-carbon energy strategies and nature-based blue-green infrastructure to achieve future-proof sustainable placemaking solutions. I understand their societal importance from a social value and community perspective as well as a driver for regeneration and economic growth.

Collaboration

I regularly lead multi-disciplinary teams on major schemes and understand the importance of smart collaboration and building an inclusive and engaged team in the success of the project. Equally, I appreciate and value building relationships with our clients and wider design teams. As a people person, the ability to create strong, lasting relationships and work with good people is as important to me as being considered a trusted technical advisor or team leader.
