Join us for a practical session on climate risk assessment and sustainable asset management.
Our experts will outline the West Midlands climate policies and planning frameworks, referencing the UK Green Building Council's 'UK Climate Resilience Roadmap'.
Rebecca Fagan-Spence will guide participants in identifying and evaluating climate-related risks in development projects, introducing applied methodologies for hazard mapping and risk assessment, with a particular focus on ground engineering perspectives.
Dr Elisabeth Marlow will examine the financial and operational implications of climate inaction, including the concept of stranded assets and associated value risks. She will then lead a comparative discussion on the challenges and opportunities of retrofit versus new build strategies, highlighting approaches to future-proof developments against climate impacts.
The event will conclude with a set of actionable recommendations for embedding resilience into development planning and delivery, providing attendees with operational tools to support both immediate and long-term implementation.
