Dr. Elisabeth Marlow comments on the UK Climate Resilience Roadmap launch

UK and Europe 01 July 2025

On 26 June, UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) launched the UK Climate Resilience Roadmap that featured inputs from Dr Elisabeth Marlow.

According to the UKGBC, the UK Climate Resilience Roadmap provides a robust, evidence-based strategy for adapting to climate hazards and building resilience. It makes the case for resilience to be embedded at every level, from organisational strategies of each industry subsector, into the design, construction, and operation of buildings as well as proposing how our national policies must play in driving and enabling resilience for organisations and communities.

Dr. Elisabeth Marlow contributed to the roadmap by taking part in set workshop sessions and sharing her practice expertise and knowledge.

“I strongly believe in the power of participation and sharing industry voice,” comments Elisabeth. “We’re beyond conversations, we need clear actions for the UK’s future of its existing built environment and agree how we can drive change that is beyond today.

“For me, consulting with the task groups was insightful to constructively communicate what resilience means for practitioners. Engaging with the roadmap process allows the opportunity to question and positively influence decisions that will affect us and generations after,” concludes Elisabeth.

The UK Climate Resilience Roadmap has been developed over the past two years as a collaborative effort between industry peers. Read more about the tool that raises awareness and enables action here.
