Nebula

Nebula is an award-winning development comprising seven units across three light industrial buildings at Milton Park, the UK's largest single-ownership innovation community. Each building features cross laminated timber (CLT) mezzanine floors and glulam structural beams, ensuring the 80,000 sq ft scheme has been designed to achieve high levels of sustainability and flexibility. The project has been designed to the highest standards and to be as sustainable as possible, reflected in its BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

From RIBA Stage 2 to Practical Completion, Cundall used embodied carbon modelling to inform design decisions, review specifications and verify as-built data. This intervention helped refine material choices, construction inputs and reporting accuracy, achieving an average upfront carbon of 455kgCO2e/m² and whole life carbon of 630kgCO2e/m², below the 500 and 800kgCO2e/m² Federated Hermes Design Innovation Standard (DIS) targets.
