The Neighbourhood Kitchen is shortlisted for Outstanding Partnership Project Award 2019/20

20 December 2019

We are delighted to share The Neighbourhood Kitchen is shortlisted for the Outstanding Partnership Project Awards 2019/20 in Hong Kong. Cundall has provided a pro-bono service for Grosvenor on the Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis for a community placemaking project – the first Neighbourhood Kitchen in Shek Tong Tsui, Hong Kong.

The Outstanding Partnership Project Award was first launched in 2003 / 2004 by the Caring Company Scheme to recognise Caring Companies or Caring Organisations and Charitable Organisations that meets the needs of the community through outstanding partnership project. This award commends the efforts and contributions made by cross-sector cooperation.

Our project’s nomination is very unique and first of its kind in Hong Kong because the project is a partnership between a corporate company (Grosvenor), an Non-Governmental Organisations (Caritas), and a consultant (Cundall).

The Neighbourhood Kitchen is designed for low-income families who live in the sub-divided flats around Shek Tong Tsui. Its purpose is to improve these families’ living standards as a lot of the sub-divided flats do not have kitchens of their own. By providing a kitchen space with professional food storage facilities and all the equipment needed for cooking, the families can bond over meals with family members and friends. The Kitchen is also supported by charity partners, local restaurants and businesses, where fresh ingredients are provided to The Kitchen every day.

As one of Cundall’s Sustainability Cornerstones in our Sustainability Roadmap, Cundall is committed to create a positive impact through working with NGO and aid funded organisations. Through this pro-bono collaboration with Grosvenor, we successfully contributed back to our community in Hong Kong.
