The award recognises the highest quality building projects and promotes the advancement of Hong Kong’s building industry – the cornerstone of the metropolis that transformed it into Asia’s renowned world city. This year is the 10th edition of the Quality Building Award.

Hong Kong Children’s Hospital is the first hospital in Hong Kong to achieve a Platinum rating in BEAM Plus Provisional Assessment. Cundall is part of the design and build project team appointed to provide sustainability and BEAM consultancy services during the contract stage of the project. Our team has introduced many cutting-edge technologies that maximises environmental performance and also improving the patients’ experience.

Jonathan Yau, Associate Director commented, “The Hong Kong Children’s Hospital is one of the first hospitals in Hong Kong to adopt a revolution building design and incorporate innovative sustainability designs to ensure the patients’ benefits are prioritised. It means a lot to have The Children’s Hospital shortlisted as a finalist at the Quality Building Award; not only recognising the industry’s effort in sustainability designs, it also encourages the industry to develop more sustainable institutional buildings in Hong Kong."
