This year for the annual [d] arc-night awards, we are partnering up with our manufacturer partner, Signify, to create a unique installation, that will be both mesmerising and psychedelic in nature.

The [d]arc awards celebrate and recognise excellence in the field of architectural and decorative lighting. Established to honour outstanding achievements in lighting design, they showcase innovative projects, products, and designers who have significantly contributed to the advancement of the industry, fostering collaboration and innovation within the lighting design industry, giving opportunity to showcase their talents.

Awards are given on [d]arc night, an atmospheric party at the iconic venue Fabric London, against a backdrop of light installations. For 2024, this year's awards theme is ‘80s Night Out’.

Our lighting designers, Liz Skelton, Hannah Holmes, Kim Riley and Zara Azam are working together with Signify to design installations that explore the colour, sounds and textures to ignite old and elicit memories of night-time euphoria. We hope to create a hallucinogenic and dynamic experience, immersed in colour, transcending viewers to the golden era of music, dance, and fashion.

With sustainability at the core of the design, the products used are sourced second hand and transported via electric vehicles. This minimises carbon emissions throughout the process, curating a zero-waste expression of 80s night life.

Cundall also has three projects shortlisted at the [d]arc awards, The Kitin and Gym Town in Hong Kong, and The Burra Burawa Birrung Gili public art in Australia. They are being recognised under the "Places – low budget" and "Art – low budget" categories.

Voting is available from now to 1st March, cast your vote today to support Cundall's lighting designs. Vote here.
