International law firm Withersworldwide approached us for help in creating an environmental sustainability strategy for their global office operations. The scope of work focused on creating a strategy that would apply environmental responsibility measures to both new offices and planned refurbishment projects for all existing offices while also supporting Withersworldwide in reducing their environmental impact and carbon emissions.
Our ESG team carried out a materiality exercise to identify the key responsibility themes of importance to the firm. This included employee engagement workshops and internal and external stakeholder surveys, and the resulting insights formed the foundations for the strategy.
The strategy will support a consistent approach to environmental responsibility and drive performance beyond statutory compliance and ensure that Withersworldwide offices are fit for purpose in the future. We have now followed the strategy framework during projects for five new offices in Tokyo, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Singapore and have worked successfully with various parties including Withersworldwide responsibility team members, architects, engineers and project managers to explain and deliver the KPIs over the course of the projects.
Withersworldwide have proactively responded to the growing demand to demonstrate credible, tangible and comprehensive sustainability approaches across their offices.
