Colt Data Centre Services has initiated the construction of its third state-of-the-art data centre in Frankfurt. The new hyperscale data centre will offer 32.4MW of IT capacity, all powered by 100% renewable energy. Spanning a gross area of 12,599m2, this three-story facility is designed to Tier 3 specifications providing resilient power and a high concentration of fibre routes.
Cundall has extensive expertise designing hyperscale data centres for leading cloud service providers. The new Frankfurt facility will provide direct access to the DE-CIX, one of the world's largest internet exchange points and will offer cloud, carrier, and IX neutrality. The data centre will also support liquid cooling, high-density rack layouts, and hybrid cooling solutions to accommodate the AI-enabled future.
Construction on the project began in November 2023, with Cundall operating as the client design representative. As a result, Cundall has been delivering peer-reviews of the project as it progresses through each of the RIBA stages and provides technical support to Colt's discipline SME team.
