My passion for structural engineering began while studying civil engineering and business at Swinburne University. I studied abroad in Malaysia and the United States, which broadened my perspective and ultimately shaped my career – a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco confirmed that structural engineering was my calling. Since then, I’ve progressed from graduate to director, leading teams of over 20 engineers on major projects such as La Trobe Institute of Molecular Science, Aurora Melbourne Central, Melbourne Airport: Terminal 2 Expansion, and The Poly Center (210 George Street).

Creativity

Creativity is at the core of how I work, balancing the architect’s vision, the client’s budget and the builder’s construction methodology preferences is a very complex puzzle that I genuinely enjoy. Each project brings a new set of constraints and opportunities; and that constant challenge is what makes my work exciting and rewarding.

Excellence

Excellence, to me, is never settling for ‘good enough’ and I think this is what has significantly contributed to my career success to date. I bring rigour and pride to every project I’m involved in, regardless of scale or complexity. Pursuing excellence in structural design and project delivery is what keeps me engaged.
