Seafield Masterplan triumphs at the Scottish Design Awards

UK and Europe 04 July 2025

Huge success for the Seafield Masterplan project at the Scottish Design Awards. The project won the Regeneration and Masterplanning category, at this prestigious award ceremony that celebrates excellence in Scottish design, architecture and creativity.

The Seafield Masterplan aims to transform a low-density commercial area along Edinburgh’s coastline into a vibrant, climate-resilient, mixed-use neighbourhood. The plan includes up to 2,700 mixed-tenure homes aiming to meet housing needs while promoting sustainable urban living

Designed as a bold response to the challenges of climate change, housing demand, and coastal development, the masterplan aspires to become a model for future-facing, inclusive regeneration.

Patrick McFarlane
, Associate, commented “Winning this award is a proud moment for the entire team. It’s a testament to the collaborative effort and creativity of everyone involved, from design to planning. We’re excited to see this climate resilient vision continue to take shape for the benefit of future generations.”

Congratulations to the project team 7N Architects, Rankin Fraser Landscape Architecture, Max Fordham, Nick Wright Planning and DAAKO.
