Cundall is proud to announce Industry recognition the sustainability achievements at Workzone East, a premier commercial building in Perth. The project, managed in collaboration with Knight Frank and asset owner RF CorVal, has recently been recognised with the Environmental Impact Award of the Year at the RICS Australia Awards 2024.
Workzone East, located at 1 Nash Street, Perth, stands as a testament to innovative and sustainable building practices. This seven-storey office building, which was the first in Western Australia to achieve Carbon Neutral certification, continues to set benchmarks in environmental performance. The building’s accolades include a 6-Star NABERS Energy Rating and the Platinum Waterwise Building of the Year award for saving over 1.1 million litres of water.
Cundall played a pivotal role in this success by developing a comprehensive five-year sustainability roadmap. This plan focused on enhancing energy efficiency, indoor environment quality, water efficiency, and waste reduction. Key initiatives included the installation of energy-efficient heat pump systems, the commissioning of 99kW PV solar panels, and the implementation of tenant engagement programs such as ‘A Gift of Seeds’ and Waste Watchers @ Work.
Oliver Grimaldi, Director at Cundall, remarked, “Our collaborative approach with Knight Frank and RF CorVal has enabled us to achieve remarkable sustainability milestones. The recognition from RICS underscores the importance of our efforts in driving environmental excellence in commercial buildings.”
As Workzone East continues its journey towards full electrification by 2030, Cundall remains committed to pioneering sustainable solutions that not only meet but exceed industry standards. This award is a testament to the dedication and expertise of the entire project team.
