Cundall partners with Overbury to launch the Meliora Scheme

UK and Europe 10 December 2025

We have recently partnered with Overbury to launch the Meliora Scheme, an initiative designed to give engineers a more holistic understanding of how projects come together.

Robert Marney, Associate Director, comments, "As a business, we are committed to creating opportunities for engineers to broaden their understanding of the project journey. Through initiatives like this, we’re helping to shape a stronger, more connected industry from design through to construction, fostering a better understanding of the challenges on both sides.”

For five weeks, Rory Norris, Management Trainee at Overbury, joined Cundall, where he spent time with our building performance services, building services engineering and lighting teams. Rory gained experience with Revit and IES software, product evaluation and optioneering, and mechanical and electrical calculations.

At the same time, Riah Wilkinson, Senior Mechanical Engineer at Cundall, stepped into the role of Resident Engineer at Overbury. Riah gained valuable on site experience of enabling works, change control processes, circular procurement and BIM model walkthroughs with a sub-contractor.

Riah reflects on her experience with the Meliora Scheme; “Participating in the Meliora scheme provided an invaluable experience, offering unique insights into design development in the construction phase. The initiative expanded my expertise beyond the confines of my core duties, which facilitated a stronger collaboration and understanding of the industry.”

We’re proud to support initiatives like the Meliora Scheme which foster industry-wide collaboration, giving engineers the chance to broaden their experience and deepen their understanding of the journey from design to construction.
