The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) is launching a new global event, uniting the structural engineering community with the latest insights on safety, sustainability, and regional resilience. Join Calum Perey, Elisabeth Marlow, Athanasios Liaskonis, and Steven Fry-Harris for the India, Africa and Middle East session.
Calum will present “Championing sustainability – UAE carbon assessment initiative”, an initiative he co-founded that records and calculates embodied carbon in existing assets across the UAE. This pioneering work represents an important step toward improving transparency and reducing environmental impact within the built environment.
Elisabeth, Athanasios and Steven will present “Delivering resilience in Oman’s cities today”. In alignment with Oman Vision 2024, regions are developing place-based strategies guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). This session will provide an overview of sustainability methods, climate and flood mapping, and smart hazard-management strategies to support resilient urban growth.
Join this targeted regional session to gain insights into the latest developments in safety, sustainability and resilience.
