The Mount

Mixed use development nested in the mountains overlooking the city of Muscat

Located 650m above sea level the plans for The Mount included apartments, townhouses, villas, a 5-star hotel with hotel apartments and social areas with retail. The footprint of the area covered 800,000m2 and was planned over two phases. With sustainability and wellbeing at the forefront of the development, careful consideration was taken to ensure the buildings blended into the surroundings.

Being involved from the feasibility stage, our team developed design strategies and the masterplan concept whilst engaging with the Ministry of Tourism in Oman. Due to the location of the site, accessibility was a challenge that our team overcame by embracing smart construction methods which also provided sustainable infrastructure.

Lee French commented, "Cundall’s core values shone through by providing a holistic approach to solving engineering problems but more importantly respecting the natural beauty of the site and ensuring sustainability was embedded right at the heart of the development."
