Cundall is part of the multi-disciplinary team delivering the Ibri Structure Plan, a strategic urban framework for the city of Ibri in Oman. Spanning 330km², Ibri occupies a key location in Northern Oman, serving as a vital gateway to both the UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In alignment with Oman Vision 2040, this project integrates sustainability, resilience, and heritage preservation at the heart of Ibri’s urban future.

The plan sets out a statutory framework to guide the long-term growth and development of the Ibri urban area - integrating services, infrastructure, land use, and economic planning into a unified vision for the future. Through policy-driven innovation and a strong emphasis on sustainable and resilient design, the plan aims to enhance both the urban realm and surrounding rural communities. We are proud to have worked alongside a dedicated team of experts to bring this plan to life including F&M Middle East Engineering Consultancy, Broadway Malyan, Pegasys Consulting, Systematica, DG Jones, OTU (Oman Think Urban), Skift and Chronicle Heritage Arabia.

Lee French, Partner & Managing Director MENA commented: "Building on the success of the Greater Muscat Structure Plan, Salalah Structure Plan and Salalah Smart City, our team is incredibly proud to continue shaping the future of Oman in line with Vision 2040. The Ibri Structure Plan is a powerful example of how thoughtful collaboration can harmonise urban development with cultural heritage and environmental stewardship, paving the way for a more sustainable, inclusive future for Ibri.”
