1 Bligh Street set a new benchmark in Australia for sustainable high-rise. The design takes full advantage of the views of the harbour, creating a significant new public space for the city whilst providing a quality work environment.

Careful attention was paid to the sustainable strategies in place for this 28-storey building, which achieved a 6 Star Green Star Design and As-Built and a 5 Star NABERS Energy rating.

"It was the first high-rise office tower in the southern hemisphere to feature a double skin glass façade. Cundall assisted the project team in pursuing these innovative sustainable solutions to create an optimal indoor environment." Hannah Morton, Associate Director, Sustainability.

Key fact

The building won the prestigious CTBUH 2012 Best Tall Building Award for the Asia and Australasia region - the first building in Australia to win the award.
