Seif Fahmy

It was only after my MEng degree in civil engineering at the University of Manchester that I realised my passion for structural engineering! It was during my studies and internships that I was drawn to the discipline as it gave me the opportunity to understand how my role can directly impact thousands of people’s lives by shaping cities and building their infrastructures. With the help of my team we design for a sustainable future. I’m also a registered engineer with the IStructE.

Cundall’s commitment to creativity means they give me the support and opportunities to develop digital tools to automate design work and enable new solutions not possible otherwise. At Cundall, I have been able to develop innovative tools like an automated section size rationalisation tool that reduced steel tonnage by 15.

Collaborating with people from a variety of multi-disciplinary teams across the world and learning from them has been a key part of my development so far. It has allowed me to learn from other people’s experiences and deliver better solutions.
