David Rivers

After graduating with a Masters Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering from Sheffield University in 2009, I have been working as a structural engineer for 13 years, the last five of those with Cundall. During this time, I have achieved chartered status with both the IStructE and ICE and worked across a range of sectors and project scales, from small refurbs to massive infrastructure developments.

The structures team always strive to make every project better than the last one, whether that’s making use of new technologies and software to drive efficiencies and minimise embodied carbon or simply making simple solutions work as effectively as possible.

Collaboration is a vital aspect of structural engineering, as even the most elegantly designed building is useless if it doesn’t successfully interface with other disciplines or the needs of the client, which gives us the chance to work with a vast array of talented engineers and architects and always means new challenges needing solutions.
