We won the People Development Award and two of our projects were recognised at Constructing Excellence West Midlands Awards 2021.
Black Country and Marches Institute of Technology was a joint winner with Cyber Quarter: Midlands Centre for Cyber Security in the Integration and Collaborative Working award category. Cyber Quarter then went on to win Building Project of the Year.
Constructing Excellence West Midlands Awards celebrate projects across the region. They demonstrate the desire and commitment to deliver buildings across a variety of sectors in a collaborative and sustainable manner.
Black Country and Marches Institute of Technology is a 3,700m2 education facility specialising in providing skills in industry sectors with skills shortages such as engineering, construction and digital technologies. It’s one of the first education projects to be delivered under the Integrated Project Insurance (IPI) approach. We worked with the integrated project team including Dudley College (Client), IPInitiatives (Independent Facilitator), Speller Metcalfe (Primary Constructor), Derry Building Services (MEP Constructor), GCA Consulting (Structural and Civil), Cullinan Studio (Architects) and Fulcro (Digital Coordinators).
Cyber Quarter: Midlands Centre for Cyber Security is a state-of-the-art cyber security centre at Skylon Park, providing research and development facilities for businesses to address and develop their cyber security needs, products and services. We provided civil, structural, geotechnical engineering and acoustic design services on the scheme which completed late 2020.
Finally, we were awarded the People Development award which recognises organisations that appreciate and nurture their workforce to ensure they maximise the value of everyone’s contribution to the business.
