Masterplan collaborations shortlisted for prestigious award

Australia 26 February 2024

Cundall’s Perth team are feeling delighted to see their work with DevelopmentWA recognised with shortlisting in the Consult Australia Awards for Excellence in the Excellence in Collaboration category. The prestigious awards celebrate the work of consultants in the engineering design and project delivery sectors, with the winners due to be announced on 14 March 2024, at a gala event at the ICC in Sydney.

The team has been working with DevelopmentWA for over a decade, providing sustainability advisory to support the agency in achieving world-class Green Star Communities ratings from the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) for projects including Alkimos Central, Montario Quarter and Subi East. The team’s work also includes Alkimos Beach and Alkimos Vista, two partnership projects between DevelopmentWA and Lendlease who engaged and manages Cundall for both projects. Alkimos Beach was the first in Australia to attain a 6-Star Green Star Communities rating.

“Here at Cundall, we regard collaboration as essential for achieving the best outcomes for our clients and their projects, which makes it especially pleasing to see one of our long-term client collaborations recognised by industry peers,” said Oliver Grimaldi, Cundall Associate Director and Perth office lead.

“It has also been wonderful working with a client like DevelopmentWA – as well as the DevelopmentWA/Lendlease partnership project teams – who recognise their power to transform the practices of the broader Western Australian property sector by embedding sustainability into their masterplans and design guidelines.

“To achieve net zero across the urban fabric, we need the whole industry to join the journey. Every builder, subcontractor and consultant who works on these Green Star Communities projects is gaining new skills, expertise and capability that helps make net zero outcomes seem achievable, affordable and attractive to the market.”
