Cundall finalists in Consult Australia Awards

Australia 14 February 2023

Cundall Australia is extremely proud to see its engineering innovation and sustainability thought leadership recognised with shortlisting in the Consult Australia Awards for Superior Sustainability.

“Our work throughout 2022 highlighted the need to address existing buildings and improve their energy performance, occupant experience and overall resilience,” said Australian Managing Director, Garrit Schot.

“As part of our commitment to ensuring no building is left behind in the net zero transition, we made a conscious decision to freely share our knowledge and experience in the ‘how’ of climate action in the built environment. We recognise that collaboration across the property sector is essential for the whole community to improve our urban places and protect the wider global environment.”

Tangible outcomes of this commitment to positive influence included participating in industry events, hosting webinars, seminars and masterclasses. The team also created and published ebooks, blogs, podcasts, social posts and op-eds on key technical and operational aspects of sustainability and net zero building services engineering approaches.

“The key themes we have been articulating are essential for the whole property value chain to engage with, and the message has been clear from the IPCC and other expert bodies that action in the built environment is one of the best tools we have at our disposal for creating a viable climate and energy future,” Schot said.

“As engineers and trusted advisors, we have an ethical and professional obligation to provide solutions, strategies and insight on the major challenges including decarbonisation approaches, electrification, existing building performance upgrades and embedding ESG through the value chain.”

The winners of the 2022 Consult Australia Awards for Excellence will be announced in Sydney on 23 March.
