North East Carbon and Nature Marketplace - Marketplace Guide cover

We were integral in the design and development of the North East Carbon and Nature Marketplace (NECaNM) – providing the integrity frameworks, due diligence processes and guidance that underpin its operation.

Launched by the North East Combined Authority (North East CA) and Net Zero North East England (NZNEE), The NECaNM represents a new model for climate and nature investment – one that puts trust, transparency and local impact at its heart.

Built for the North East of England, the marketplace connects buyers and funders with high-integrity, regionally-focused projects that deliver not just carbon savings, but real, lasting benefits for communities and ecosystems.

At a time when confidence in global carbon markets is under strain, the NECaNM offers a high-integrity, place-based alternative that keeps economic, environmental and social benefits local – while setting a bold new standard for how voluntary markets can operate.

The Marketplace Guide offers a clear overview of how the platform works, who it’s for and why it matters. Whether you’re an organisation looking to invest, or a project developer aiming to participate, this guide explains how to get involved in a marketplace built on integrity and impact.
