Arc Magazine - 18 Cross

Featured in Arc Magazine, 18 Cross is a 66,680sqm mixed-use development in Singapore comprising a 15-storey office tower, a four-storey podium, restored conservation shophouses, and two basement parking levels. Cundall’s brief was to transform an aging commercial building into a contemporary mixed-use destination that fulfils the client’s commercial and sustainability ambitions.

The lighting design employs subtle, indirect illumination to emphasis materiality, reveal textures, and define the building’s geometry while reinforcing its architectural hierarchy. Focus is drawn to the main thoroughfare and distinctive 45° intersections, creating a dynamic visual experience for both pedestrians and passing traffic.

Prioritising sustainability and visual comfort, the lighting design minimises light spill while optimising energy use. The design transforms 18 Cross into a luminous beacon within Singapore’s CBD, revitalising the urban landscape and enriching the community experience.
