Hosted by Sophie Simpson, the session will tackle the challenging areas of sustainable procurement and innovative materials that can promote a low carbon design.
Callum Kerr will give an overview of embodied carbon and circular economy in the built environment. He will introduce the Cundall material database that informs clients and design teams about alternative low-carbon materials.
Stuart McHendry will provide an update on whole life carbon in relation to Scotland’s market, the current landscape and what changes we can expect to see in the future.
Alex Mar Morales will showcase how Cundall has reduced embodied carbon on projects, including lessons learnt and key design considerations for different building sector typologies. He will share Cundall's Material Passport and Library and how it helps promote the use of sustainable materials.
