Marta Hergueta Ortega

From an early age, I was clear about my professional goal: building services engineering. Fortunately, it’s a passion I share with both my father and sister. I completed my degree at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, followed by a year in Copenhagen studying Construction Management. In 2015, I began my career at an engineering firm in Madrid, specialising in hospital design. My first opportunity in London came at Fosters + Partners, and in 2019 I moved into the field I enjoy most – data centre design.

“Find a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” That’s exactly how I feel working with my team at Cundall. People need a reason to design, to calculate, to stay curious and keep learning. For me, that reason is my colleagues and the environment at Cundall. Since joining in 2022, I’ve truly enjoyed taking on the challenges and deadlines that each project brings.

What makes a company a great place to work is its people - but more than that, it’s how we’re organised as individuals and as a team. Just like rowing a boat, success comes when we row in sync, understand the direction of the force driving us, choose the right techniques, and navigate challenges together - enjoying the journey while working towards project success.
