Joseph Lazell

Seeing the whole piece of the puzzle is what attracted me to building services engineering. From obtaining MEng in Architectural Engineering from University of Heriot-Watt to my current role, I have developed the ability to integrate sustainability into all aspects of the building design. I joined Cundall in 2025 as part of Manchester’s leadership team, working across all sectors with a key focus on the workplace sector. 

I find it rewarding seeing how the work we do, especially when it comes to building services, impacts the whole building rather than just a part of it. As engineers we strive to deliver the best work and that includes not overlooking the importance of commercial viability and technical detail in design. 

As the industry evolves, standing still is not an option. Our teams are constantly upskilling, ensuring that our technical knowledge is always ahead of the change and is shared across the business.
