Alexander Drysdale

My passion for sustainable building design began whilst studying Building Design Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, developing a strong appreciation for the integration of architecture, structures and building services systems.  With over 25 years' experience in the built environment sector, I have delivered award-winning landmark developments across the UK, recognised for their design quality, technical innovation and industry-leading sustainability aspirations, including some of the country’s highest performing commercial workplace environments.  Having joined Cundall in April 2026, I am excited by the practice’s collaborative design approach, technical excellence and recognised leadership in advancing Net Zero delivery.

Cundall’s collaborative approach to design and problem solving is one of the qualities that resonates most with me.  I have always enjoyed challenging conventional design thinking and believe genuine collaboration is fundamental to delivering better buildings.  In my experience, open and proactive collaboration enhances building performance, occupier experience and commercial outcomes, while fostering shared goals, stronger relationships and an environment where innovation and meaningful industry change can thrive.
