Cundall appoints Vahid Alamshah as Australian Acoustics Lead

Australia 21 February 2023

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Vahid Alamshah as Principal Acoustics consultant in the Australian business. The appointment reflects the growing demand for acoustic consultancy services in the Australian property sector at both the individual asset and the wider precinct scale.

“Acoustics is a critical component for buildings and infrastructure, and we are delighted Vahid has joined our team so we can provide this important expertise to clients,” said Cundall Australia Managing Director, Garrit Schot.

“As a discipline, acoustics sits across both sustainability and building services. As more asset owners look to improve their properties to meet market demand for higher quality, better performing buildings, acoustic consulting is an important part of the scoping, design and delivery process.

“It is also a fundamental part of the development assessment and approval process for any new major project.”

Alamshah has extensive experience in acoustic consulting across diverse sectors including energy infrastructure, mixed use buildings, educational, health, commercial offices, retail, industrial and logistics.

“We are seeing increasing densification in our cities, and with this comes the need to ensure very different activities can co-exist harmoniously,” Alamshah commented. “Noise issues are one of the factors that determines how well a community functions and supports both business productivity and human wellbeing.”

“I am also excited by the opportunity to be part of Cundall’s wider mission to help the zero carbon transition.”

Cundall APAC Acoustics Lead, Daniele Albanese says Alamshah will help with the expansion of services across the region.

“Our team is growing across both buildings and the area of assessing and mitigating environmental noise for industrial developments and infrastructure,” Albanese says.

“Demand is high in Australia due to the comprehensive noise regulations. Noise assessments are required for most projects due to council regulation or state policies requirements. In addition, many of our clients want to achieve a sustainability credential such as Green Star, WELL and LEED, and acoustics is one of the benchmarked areas in these certifications.

“Vahid will work closely with our sustainability team to ensure that acoustic requirements will be achieved.”
