Australia 08 November 2023

Perth-based Senior Sustainability Consultant, Ankita Gurav, has been awarded a Commendation in the NAWIC WA Awards for the Curtin University ‘Excellence in Sustainability’ category.

Held by the Western Australian chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), the awards recognise built environment professionals that have made a substantial contribution to improving environmental sustainability outcomes.

With a background as a practising architect and a Masters degree in Energy Efficient Buildings, Ankita has developed specialist expertise in providing modelling and design advisory to improve the passive performance of buildings and optimise environmental responsiveness.

“My goal is to influence the industry with the knowledge and expertise I gain from my work, and this award is such amazing recognition of what I have achieved so far,” Ankita said.

Since joining the field of sustainability, Ankita has contributed to more than 50 projects. She has also become part of Cundall’s company-wide Zero Carbon Design advocacy group.

“It is essential to engage clients in innovation discussions,” she explained. “Ultimately, this is how we can foster progress within the industry, enabling it to embrace cutting-edge sustainability concepts.”

APAC Managing Director Julian Bott said having Ankita’s abilities and influence on projects recognised is a source of pride for the whole Australian business.

“Technical excellence is a core value for Cundall – and Ankita demonstrates it every day in her work. Seeing this recognised in the broader industry is something to celebrate.”
