The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated engineer to join our team, to help deliver net zero carbon projects in operation as part of our wider Net Zero Carbon services. Helping lead and develop our energy modelling and building physics services and capabilities with a focus on achieving net zero carbon in operation for new build and existing buildings. The role will include carrying out energy predictions and assessments to the following standards:

  • NABERS UK Design for Performance
  • CIBSE TM54 - Evaluating Operational Energy Performance of Buildings
  • ASHRAE Energy Modelling 90.1
  • Passivhaus planning package.

The Skills

Educated to Masters level in Engineering and having gained relevant practical experience in a number of above energy assessment methodologies. You will need to demonstrable a knowledge of building physics, mechanical design, energy modelling, and building performance.

An in depth-knowledge of dynamic simulation software, including advanced HVAC modelling is essential. An appreciation of coding or a modern programming language would be an advantage.

A knowledge of the following areas of expertise would be beneficial:

  • dynamic simulation software
  • mechanical design
  • Building Regulations, EPCs
  • Planning issues
  • climate based daylighting analysis
  • operational energy calculation and life cycle carbon costing
  • LEED, BREEAM and WELL Standards.

Given the collaborative and client focussed nature of this role, effective communication skills and some experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.
