Steven Reilly

After originally qualifying as a civil engineer, I returned to education in 2009 to re-train in fire safety engineering following the global economic downturn. Since then, my interest and passion for fire safety and fire engineering has continued to grow. I joined Cundall in 2020 and have had the chance to work on a range of challenging and complex projects throughout the MENA region.

On a daily basis, I find myself interacting with all other engineering disciplines, architects, clients, developers and suppliers. I thoroughly enjoy this collaboration as it means every day is different. I’m always learning and developing new perspectives.

Fire engineering involves developing performance-based solutions to overcome complex design issues. This ensures that each development either complies with code requirements or provides an equivalent level of protection. I find this to be one of the most rewarding and creative elements of fire engineering.
