There is a certain poetry associated with lighting design that has enthralled me since my university days. I found myself engaged by how this intangible building material can be moulded and shaped to change a person’s experience of a built form. Good lighting design rarely gets talked about - however, poor lighting design can bring down the very best of spaces.

I have worked on lighting design for master planning, hospitality, high-end residential and retail projects. My favourite, however, are hotels. I am in awe of the power that good lighting can have in making a transient hotel experience a meaningful, emotionally long-lasting one.

Creativity comes from collaboration. I’m of the firm opinion that two heads are better than one when it comes to design. Having a mix of ideas, personalities and thought processes that are all working towards a collective goal makes for both a better project and a happier design team.

At Cundall, I feel enveloped by a community of highly engaged, motivated thinkers. It’s important for lighting to be an intrinsic part of the built environment and my role at Cundall allows me the agency to be a part of delivering cohesive, well designed, well thought out schemes.
