We are pleased to welcome Andy Crowther, Associate Building Performance Engineer, who will be based in our London office. His appointment reflects Cundall’s continued commitment to decarbonising existing buildings by working with clients to deliver on their aspirations.
Andy has 11 years of experience and joins us after playing a pivotal role at Arcadis and WSP's sustainability and building services team. He has spent his career contributing to decarbonisation and reducing carbon emissions on projects across the UK. Some of these projects include supporting public sector clients such as the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DiO), through to private sector clients such as UK based asset owners to analyse, prioritise, and cost effectively target portfolio energy and carbon hotspots in response to net zero targets.
Commenting on his appointment, Andy said:
“I am looking forward to playing a part in the Cundall team and working with clients to provide solutions for sustainability risks. Even before entering the profession, I have been passionate about the built environment and helping to shape our existing buildings to benefit those that use them. I look forward to collaborating with the talented team at Cundall and continue to push the boundaries of what is possible in this market.
“Aside from supporting our clients in decarbonising their assets, it is now more than ever pertinent to make sure our buildings and developments are not costing the planet. Last year, the average temperature exceeded the 1.5° limit above pre-industrial levels set by the Paris agreement. I think the need to meet this 1.5° limit long-term should drive our ambition to constantly think of reducing carbon in our design decisions.”
Commenting on Andy’s appointment, Robin Pritchett, Head of Building Performance Services UK, said:
“We are thrilled to welcome Andy to our team. His expertise and experience will strengthen our offering to clients and deliver on the growth plans for our building performance services team. We have seen increasing demand in the market for decarbonisation and retrofit design and with Andy’s appointment we will continue to be positioned at the forefront of the market in providing consultancy and design advice to clients.”
Our retrofit projects include, 5 New Street Square, Palm House at Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew and Broadgate Tower.
