Eldon Square Redevelopment

  • Cundall was appointed on a multi-disciplinary basis for the redevelopment of Eldon Square shopping centre. This redevelopment ensures this vision is upheld by creating a vibrant retail focal point for the 25 million shoppers it attracts.

Hartford Hall Estate

Northumberland, United Kingdom

  • Hartford Hall is a Grade II listed building. In 1998, the new owners wanted to renovate the Hall and outbuildings and convert them back to residential use, initially with the addition of 47 new-build properties. This concept is called 'enabling development'; it effectively overrides certain restrictive planning policies and allows the restoration exercise to be subsidised by the new development.

Knowsley Schools

Liverpool, United Kingdom

  • The Knowsley BSF is driving regeneration of Knowsley and complements other new and exciting public sector work to promote inward investment and general community well-being. The scheme has been extended by the council due to the success of the initial fund of nearly £100m. An additional £49m fund is set to provide three new primary schools and one new special educational needs (SEN) school.

Palatine Centre, Durham University

  • This major redevelopment of Durham University is a new flagship sustainable building providing a gateway to the University’s Stockton Road Campus. It provides the University with a state-of-the-art student services facility, new accommodation to the Law School, a catering facility, and a 2,500m2 extension to the Main Library Building.

Pumpherston and Uphall Station Community Primary School

West Lothian, United Kingdom

  • Pumpherston & Uphall Station Community Primary School is a primary school with community facilities that is located within a wider development area. It replaced two existing schools within the catchment area and is the first of its kind to be funded by the Scottish Futures Trust. Due to its renewable features and sustainable design the new Pumpherston and Uphall Station Community School has achieved an impressive EPC rating of B+.

Riverside Park

Sunderland, United Kingdom

  • Riverside Park is the redevelopment of a 37-hectare brownfield site on the south bank of the River Wear. The scheme is set to provide 1,200 residential units, a 10,000m² retail centre, a hospice and a junior school, with associated infrastructure including a riverside walk and extensive parkland.

Sage Headquarters

Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

  • Cundall provided a comprehensive multi-disciplinary service for the design of the new world headquarters for Sage Software, located in Newcastle Great Park. The project included building services engineering, structural engineering and civil engineering, as well as providing advice on traffic, decorative lighting and transportation.

Shenley Academy

Birmingham, United Kingdom

  • Shenley Academy is a new 9,500m² school building located on the site of an existing school in the outskirts of Birmingham. The old school comprised of older 1950’s and 60’s accommodation that is in poor condition.

South Tyneside and Gateshead (STaG) BSF Programme

South Tyneside and Gateshead, United Kingdom

  • A Building Schools for the Future (BSF) project for South Tyneside Council and Gateshead Borough Council to replace/upgrade the existing schools in the area. All projects have been designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ and above, incorporating a number of sustainable features, including: rain water harvesting, biomass boilers, maximization of natural ventilation and maximization of daylight penetration.

Toffee Factory Incubation Units

Newcastle, United Kingdom

  • The restoration and redevelopment of a Victorian factory building, damaged by fire in the mid 1980’s and left derelict for 20 years. Part of the wider regeneration of the Ouseburn area of Newcastle, the building now provides modern facilities for the creative industry. The building achieved a BREEAM 'Very Good' standard.
