Arc Leisure Matlock

  • The Arc Leisure Matlock (formerly known as Central Area Leisure Centre, CALC) scheme provides an innovative and exciting new regional sport and leisure facility for local people and visitors to the Peak District. The centre was officially opened in 2011 by Lord Sebastian Coe.

Baddiley-Clark Building, University of Newcastle

Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

  • The Baddiley-Clark Building brought together a critical mass of world-leading bacterial cell biologists and provided them with state-of-the-art facilities in which to push the boundaries of research and knowledge. This building is an excellent example of innovation and a flexible building within a challenging tight site. As a result of the sustainable design used for the building it achieved a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.

BAE Systems Manufacturing Facility

Newcastle, United Kingdom

  • The new 30,000m2 manufacturing facility for BAE Systems sees the replacement of the existing First World War facility to provide employees with a modern, safer, highly automated, energy-efficient and flexible place of work.

Barrhead Health and Social Care Facility

Renfrewshire, United Kingdom

  • Barrhead Health and Social Care is a new 5,700m2 building that provides both healthcare facilities for the communities in and around the Barrhead area of Renfrewshire and office accommodation for Renfrewshire Council staff.

Bill Bryson Library, Durham University

Durham, United Kingdom

  • The redevelopment of the university’s main library was part of the major redevelopment of Durham University’s Stockton Road Campus. The project involved the demolition of the existing library’s east wing, to allow for the new extension, and partial refurbishment of the existing library. The project was split into three phases to allow the library to remain open, minimising disruption to students.

Blaydon Primary Care Centre and Leisure Centre

Gateshead, United Kingdom

  • The centre began as two separate projects, a leisure centre and a primary care centre (PCC) that involved two clients, two architects with Cundall being the common denominator providing multidisciplinary services for both. Through collaboration with all parties involved these two building combine to deliver excellent healthcare and leisure facilities to the local community.

Close House Golf Clubhouse

Northumberland, United Kingdom

  • A new golf clubhouse within the historic landscape grounds of Close House, a 17th Century Grade II listed manor house.  The contemporary clubhouse provides members and visitors with facilities including a pro-shop, ladies and gentleman’s locker rooms, a member’s club storage room, a bar/restaurant and a private function room for up to 150 people.

Cobalt Business Park

North Tyneside, United Kingdom

  • Cobalt Business Park is the largest office park in the UK. It has more than 1.5 million sq ft of office space. The park has attracted big names in the business world, so far bringing around 9,500 jobs to the area. The project is still ongoing and a further 1 million sq ft is planned for the future.

Ealing BSF

  • Cundall was appointed to provide full engineering design services for two sample schools at Dormers Wells and Cardinal Wiseman in the London Borough of Ealing as part of the original £350 million BSF programme.

Graham Sports Centre and Boat House, Durham University

  • The Graham Sports Centre at Maiden Castle is the main site for Durham University Sport and it was selected to appear in London Organising Committee Pre-Games Training Camp Guide.
