The base of the residential buildings will contain flexible retail uses, as well as rehearsal space for neighbouring cultural groups and bodies, education spaces and offices. Access into the basement for cars is also provided in the form of two car lifts.

Baddiley-Clark Building, University of Newcastle

  • The Baddiley-Clark Building brought together a critical mass of world-leading bacterial cell biologists and provided them with state-of-the-art facilities in which to push the boundaries of research and knowledge. This building is an excellent example of innovation and a flexible building within a challenging tight site. As a result of the sustainable design used for the building it achieved a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating.

Barrhead Health and Social Care Facility

  • Barrhead Health and Social Care is a new 5,700m² building that provides both healthcare facilities for the communities in and around the Barrhead area of Renfrewshire and office accommodation for Renfrewshire Council staff.

Betteshanger Visitor Centre

  • The new Betteshanger Visitor Centre will be one of the UK’s most sustainable buildings. It is designed to enhance the health and wellbeing of visitors and occupants. The building has been designed to comply with the WELL Building Standard® and is expected to be the first new building in Europe to achieve certification under the scheme.

Bill Bryson Library, Durham University

  • The redevelopment of the university’s main library was part of the major redevelopment of Durham University’s Stockton Road Campus. The project involved the demolition of the existing library’s east wing, to allow for the new extension, and partial refurbishment of the existing library. The project was split into three phases to allow the library to remain open, minimising disruption to students.
