The new academy in South Middlesbrough comprises approximately 12,000m2 of teaching and ancillary space. It was constructed in the grounds of an existing school, which remained operational throughout the contract period.
The Knowsley BSF is driving regeneration of Knowsley and complements other new and exciting public sector work to promote inward investment and general community well-being. The scheme has been extended by the council due to the success of the initial fund of nearly £100m. An additional £49m fund is set to provide three new primary schools and one new special educational needs (SEN) school.
