Structural engineer Freya Murray makes the London 2012 Olympics

Freya Murray will be representing Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics.  She will be replacing Paula Radcliffe who has had to pull out of the Marathon due to injury.  Freya joined Cundall in 2006 as a structural graduate engineer, working part-time whilst training and competing across the world.

“We are all delighted for Freya, she is such a dedicated and determined athlete.  She manages to balance her training and working with Cundall in such a professional manner and is a pleasure to work with.” says Gordon Reid, Structural and Partner in charge of our Newcastle office.  “This combined with her friendly and positive personality means everyone at Cundall will be cheering her on, we are so proud of her.”

Freya was designated the alternate for the British women’s team after making a solid marathon debut at the Virgin London Marathon last April where she finished 13th in 2:28:10.  She represented Scotland in the Commonwealth Games in 2010, finishing fifth in the 10,000m and seventh in the 5000m.

The Women's Marathon takes place on Sunday 5th August at 11.00am.
