The International Day of Light (IDL) is a global initiative that provides an annual focal point for the continued appreciation of light and the role it plays in a variety of fields including; science, culture and communications. It will be held every year on May 16th, with 2018 being the inaugural year.

Alan Fogarty, Sustainability Partner, is one of the judges of the Irish Construction Industry Awards 2018.

Cundall is delighted to have been awarded high commended status for their Staircase at the West Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards 2018.

Cundall has made two senior appointments in Perth as part of their strategy to continue to grow their building services discipline in Western Australia and beyond. Tony Comerford has been appointed as Electrical Team Leader and Mark Brayshaw as Mechanical Team Leader.

Cundall has continued the expansion of the specialist security team with the appointment of Tony Peters as Senior Security Consultant. Tony is a seasoned security professional, specialising in all aspects of electronic and physical security, he has provided security designs, support and advice to clients, architects, and contractors in the UK and overseas.

The Secretary for Development of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Wong Wai-lun, recently visited The Hong Kong Children’s Hospital and has featured the project in his blog. Construction started in 2013 and the Hospital will be operational in late 2018. During his visit, he highlighted the strong focus in sustainability and the patient’s well-being at the centre of the design philosophy for the Hospital.

The new Copperas Hill project at the Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) will transform a redundant former Royal Mail building to regenerate the city quarter and create a vibrant, student-focused heart for LJMU.

Planning permission has been granted for a 161-bed continental-style hotel on Newcastle Quayside.
