Harris Boy's Academy East Dulwich

There were celebrations at Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich last week as Education Secretary Michael Gove officially opened its brand new building.

The Academy, which opened a year ago in the buildings of Langbourne Primary School, moved to its £24 million new home in East Dulwich in September.

Cundall were appointed on the project to perform the civil, structural, building services, fire, sustainable design and BREEAM assessment. Ian Cansfield from Planning and David Currie from Structures attended the unveiling of the brand new building.

Mr Bart Cannon, Principal of the Academy, said:

“There is more to good education than just a building, but our boys are incredibly proud of our new home and rightly so. It reflects our drive and ambition and is a joy to learn in and to teach in’’.

The Academy has a grass roof and nine wind turbines and it generates 20% of its own energy supply each year.
