Cundall was appointed as Principal Consultants for the refurbishment of a 1960s government office from a 1 Star to a 4 Star building. Avoiding conventional approaches, Cundall delivered the base building upgrade for under £400/m2 and the fitout for under £250/m2. The project won Sustainable Refurbishment of the Year at the Sustainable Building Services Awards in 2007.
Façades form an integral component of the complex systems that are modern buildings. They directly influence energy efficiency, and thermal and visual comfort. As founder members of the Romanian Green Building Council Cundall is actively involved in helping Romania to embrace sustainability in the built environment. Cundall’s response to this government consultation paper, which closed on 26 February, is available to download. Cundall supports the move towards zero carbon and has made suggestions on how this can be practically and economically achieved.
Cundall’s Sustainability Reports describe our commitment to sustainability, our successes and achievements, and how we are meeting the requirements of our Sustainability Policy and Roadmap Targets. The reports also outline our performance against the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Environmental Performance Indicators and outlines the key environmental legislation affecting our business. The reports are issued bi-annually.
