I joined Cundall in May 2005 after obtaining a BEng in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning from the Beijing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture and an MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering from University College London (UCL).
The first time I heard about Cundall was in a case study of The Wellcome Trust in the Building Services Journal. Cundall provided building services engineering for this project which is next to my university and I was impressed by the ideas and techniques to maximise environmental sustainability in the building design. I felt Cundall was the place where I could combine the sustainability skills I learnt from UCL with my building services background. That was the main reason why I applied.
Cundall has given me the opportunity to work on world-leading projects including One Hyde Park. All my project experience has contributed towards advancing my knowledge and experience of building services engineering, enabling me to develop a diverse set of skills.
Within Cundall I have progressed from Graduate Engineer to my current position as Engineer and I look forward to the career opportunities ahead within the practice. What I find invaluable is that Cundall is continuously supporting its staff’s career development. I have received a wide range of internal and external training at Cundall.
I have also had the opportunity to deliver training to local staff in our Shanghai office, where I was able to put into practice what I have gathered in terms of knowledge and skills in our London office so far. This experience has further enhanced my skills and knowledge, as well as providing me with exposure to building services and sustainability engineering in the Chinese market. I have been given the opportunity to work in strong international multi-discipline teams and I am very proud to work at Cundall.
