John Lane is a leading practitioner in the delivery of large-scale IT projects. He manages Cundall's IT and communications team who provide IT, audio-visual (AV) and intelligent buildings design and project management services. In addition to leading projects, John focuses on the critical systems education, healthcare and lifestyle sectors. His interests include low-energy IT systems and the integration of intelligent building functions with internet protocol (IP) networks.
John began his career with North Sea oil platform and pipeline projects and then major trading floor design and project management. John provided the IT and telecommunications input to the BCO Guide to Specification and the BCO Office Fit-out Guide. He was the editor of IT and Buildings published by the RIBA. He is also a technical correspondent for FM World and has published many articles on technical problems associated with electrical power, IT systems and earthing.
Outside the office, John is a keen walker, sailor and mountain climber.
