Responsible business is good business. Our responsibility strategy, Cundall Captivate, ensures that everyone who works in or with Cundall benefits from our commitment to behaving responsibly.

We believe that being in business today means being responsible in the way we work, and responsible for our actions. We owe it to our clients, to our staff and to others with whom we work to stick to our promises and give them our best at all times. We expect the same in return. We have a responsibility to the communities our work touches – from the way a building looks to the social impact it makes. Environmentally, we have an enormous role to play as guardians of the future, because the things we build today will have a lasting impact on all our tomorrows.

Our approach to CSR is underpinned by a sense of duty:

In our workplace, we are committed to behaving responsibly towards our people, providing them with opportunities to do great work and develop their careers, while maintaining an appropriate balance between the things outside work that keep them fired up, and the things inside of work that we hope do the same.

In our marketplace, we want to work with other businesses that share our mindset. We behave responsibly towards our suppliers, our customers and others with whom we work, and we expect the same in return.

In the communities in which we operate, we believe in acting responsibly. We believe that becoming involved in our local communities provides opportunities for us to grow as individuals and as a business, and we actively seek out opportunities for our staff to contribute. We have taken part in a number of large and smaller scale community projects around the world, including the provision of structural engineering input to the building of an amphitheatre in a remote South African community, the installation of photovoltaics on a school building on Vanuatu island in the South Pacific, and the renovation of a local community centre in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK.

Environmentally, we work hard to give our staff the knowledge, skills and enthusiasm to make a difference; in our homes, our offices, our projects and our industry as a whole.  Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and we are committed to operating as a sustainable business.  For more information, please visit our Sustainability page
